I ran my wire down the pass side then over the top of the parcel shelf to the left side …correct or not no idea…but that’s the way I did mine

I ran mine down the drivers side under the rear seat and into the trunk. Also probably not correct but doesn’t bother me.

Or the original diagram supplied to factory or dealers.

I’d guess (and it’s just a guess) passenger side would be correct seeing as how power originally came from the area near the glovebox and of course the button is mounted there. I opted to use a different button more hidden and different power source when I installed mine hence running it down the drivers side.

Wrong car. Firebird ran down pass side and through large hole with body caulk 3/4 way up the back trunk separator. Into trunk, down the quarter ( and droop into the drop off) and to the latch. This is a factory set up, and much easier to add as a dealer once a car is completed.
Dealer kits were often a miss mash of kits and instructions for other cars. I was given kits for a Bonneville to put in a Firebird ( HUGE button too!)

994763 is correct F-body kit, not factory fitted. Do what makes you warm and fuzzy inside. I had a better diagram, will see if I can find it. Assembly manual perhaps.
Or someone else could find it, just for something different. Last edited by Trevor78; 09-08-2023 at 06:28 AM. |

All kits we installed at dealership went pass side.. and it makes sense too. Power off the fusebox constant hot terminal, over too the glove box switch, and down the pass side. No doubling back to DS and dealing with the extra wire and mess there. Pass side only had speaker wire typically... my 2 cents, but nobody sees it..

Bruce. That's how installed mine years ago. I pulled it out of a Firebird in a junkyard and installed in mine the same way down the passenger side.
