Link to YouTube Lens Casting Video I wouldn't call this simple, but the results are impressive. His vacuum de-gassing equipment would not be sitting around most workshops! |

I've watched a couple of that guys videos, he does real high-end work ... like $2000 for a set of fancy taillight lenses .. that level of high-end. Real nice work though.

Thanks, probably could look through old stock & dig out some decent used lamps that the front surfaces are pitted. Then prep & shhor clear & color sand. Not keen to giving up my NOS & really nice used lamps. Last time, lent a pair of NOS molded pieces to a huge volume national vendor to be reproduced, was very lucky I even got them back.

Plastic fast idle cams for the '68 & '69 RA Quadrajets would be nice.
Very hard to find piece, often missing, replaced with later metal fast idle cams.

'71-72 Pontiac A-body AC BAFFLE.
These are long, have an L shaped side profile & bolt to the bottom leading edge of the core support on factory AC cars. Nearly always missing, or just a remnant of one left Another very needed & hard to find plastic piece. I'm working on repairs to another of these & am considering cutting it up in sections to be 3D printed my nephew.

Well, I don't know what everyone is thinking here but I'm smelling a rat.
The OP(with a 0 count of postings), says he works for AMES! Now I just don't see an employee of AMES starting a thread asking for ideas on getting items reproduced. Rather, I'd expect to see a major thread started under "Parts you would like to see reproduced" This OP started his thread on 03-21-2024 and made two responses the same day. Since then, NOTHING. Maybe I'm wrong but like I say, I think something smells here. I'd be careful. Ian

probably a scammer that wants us to send our rare parts so he/she can sell on eBay.
That is why I asked for a deposit on my parts. Dave |

I have a shop that can 3D scan large items(he just did a race car!) and he can print something about 3 ft long. If resin cast it can be even larger.
