TurboStart SR59 AGM - Wrong Positive Terminal?
I purchased new battery cables and a battery for my ‘70 Tempest 350/350:
TurboStart SR59 12 V Collector AGM Battery for 1967-1972 GM Vehicles - 903-SR59 - https://www.jegs.com/i/Turbostart/903/SR59/10002/-1 Spring-Ring Battery Cables - 70-71 BATTERY CABLES V8 EXC RAM AIR, PR(RE) - M369 - https://www.amesperf.com/parts/1436/ The positive battery terminal is the same diameter as the negative, so the spring-ring connector on the positive cable is too big! Which one is wrong? I’m assuming it’s the battery, as every other automotive battery I’ve ever used has a wider positive terminal. I’m not about to cut off the spring-ring connector to install a parts store negative clamp; the whole point was to have the OEM look. Any suggestions other than just returning the battery?

I was able to fix the problem by using a terminal shim on the positive post.

Thanks for posting your solution! I’d never seen or heard of them. Good to know.
