Default 1-1/4" sway bar on 1969 GTO

Hello all!
I'm trying to install a spare 1-1/4" sway bar on my 69 goat.
Ordered links and bushing kit (PN 9.5172G), both poly, from Energy Suspension.
Bushings are greaseable which i thought was a good idea, but do not have to be.
The bushing bracket will not mount to the frame. OE has 2-9/16" center to center spacing; the new bracket has slots but the tightest hole spacing it will fit is 3-1/16".
They sell a Universal bracket as well, but the tightest spacing in the slots is still too wide at around 3".

I have read many old threads and i know many of you have made this swap.
How did you do it?
I talked with Energy Suspension guy and he had no ideas. Also called Ames and they do not appear to have a bracket that would work. I would go with rubber bushing if need be before i messed with drilling and tapping the frame.

How did you do it?

Socket head bolts. "D'ed" washers under head if you can fit it.

This.

Used the factory brackets and 12-point metric fasteners on two of my 1964 A-body Pontiacs, installing one is no different on a 1969. You can’t use regular hex head hardware as there’s not enough clearance.

I used urethane sway bar bushings on one car and a factory rubber bushings on the other so both types can be use with the factory sway bar brackets.

Thanks guys
I figured a set of original brackets/bushings from a TA would work...I measured the spacing of a bracket on a TA with the 1-1/4" bar and it appears to be 2-9/16" center to center, so would match the GTO frame holes. Problem is I do not have an extra set of brackets and cannot find them at the normal suppliers, except for the 'universal kit' that has the mounting holes spread too far apart. Socket head bolts would not help with the brackets i bought, you cannot even see the second bolt hole after you make the first one.

I'm still looking for aftermarket that fits or used OE brackets....if anyone has purchased aftermarket brackets/bushings that worked for this application please let me know

Thanks again

Place a parts wanted ad in the appropriate classified forum, someone out there has exactly what you need.

I ended up ordering Energy Suspension 9.5113G, found on amazon (free delivery is cool)

This summit link shows the specs:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ens-9-5113g

the specs show that the bracket will work for 2-9/16" bolt centers

will report back when i get them
