Default 1973 Firebird Trans Am Hood Latch cable rod pull release INFO NEEDED

re: 1973 Firebird / Formula / Trans Am

How was the one year only hood latch release pull cable or rod originally?

I see no replacement parts offered by catalog companies for this year.

Anyone have photos of an original pull cable/rod?
Have nothing to compare to.

I now see Restore a Muscle Car may have a solution:

Here's a pic what you're looking for. I do believe it's a one year part. I don't think you need the latch unless you're missing any of the parts that the cable attachs to on the latch.

If you're willing to drill holes to adapt the RAMC kit, great. But for the price you could find OE parts.
One discussion of OE install here.

The original cable is fraying and the grommet wore out of its bracket. Unsure what I will do yet. Assuming I can get a new cable made(?) and then need that grommet secured.

FWIW, the 73 " J" bracket is different and has a special hole for one of 2 cable routing sleeves. May have one.
