Being from Chicgo, I understand, the trunk lid isn't 'perfect enough' for collectors. They hear 'Chicago' and think snow, salt, and rust.

Being a guy that parts a ton of cars...i send a lot to the crusher, but i dont worry anymore, space and storage is a limitation..when ya try to sell "off" cars and parts, many many times the phone is dead silent...kinda tells ya, ya shouldnt have bought it..

I ran an ad on another board for a car before i bought it...i hade 50 guys wanting parts..bought the car..paid too much...and sold exactly $125 off the car..sent the efn thing to the crusher it brought $756 in crush weight...not one person followed thru...i feel the pain and guilt of killing some cars, but it will only bring what it will bring..no more big Buicks for me unless they are free or close to it...they crush out well..prob is i got 2 more...and the phone aint a ringin'

"not one person followed thru..."

Yep, people "swear" they will buy something and then "ooops I dont have it". Or, they want it 'free' shipped to their front yard.

I used to get small parts for car message board fans and had a few 'oops', so quit.

Or, they wait until after you've crushed/sold it and tell you how much they WOULD have paid you for it.

Cool that they got parted out and not wasted. So many rot away from the 'SomedaywhenIgetraroundtoit' folks.

And sure, I like that 4 door '72 Skylark, and its clean, but who has time for it? Someone else with a collectible Skylark/GS coupe/conv got some good parts.
