I disagree Tenny, Not True, Both cars are Post Cars. I am old and half blind but not totally blind and can still
recognize a couple of "Post Cars" when I see them in a picture. See Pics Attached. Tom V.

Well........on the cover and in the Road Test Block pg17, those 2 are POST cars however pg 14 shows clearly a 2 dr ht. The post coupe is wearing delux hubcaps and the hardtop has spinners.

It is nice that people saved the old magazine articles. Too bad most of the time the print is so small you can't read the words and can barely see the pics. Blowing up the pics just makes the images blurred.

Tom posted the cover w/the post car (maybe a painting wasn't in the budget?!).
Another action-packed rabbit hole, though, is tracking the sideview mirror - and lack thereof - throughout the various images ... |

Ah! I knew I had seen more than one picture of the 421 'Pyramid' Block and the 421 Pistons in the block in the GTO.
This was the driver's (opposite) side of the engine when the 421 engine was installed. Again the Pyramid is visible though not as clear. You can also identify the Blue Car's Michigan Plate HJ-4471, and as you said, the lack of any outside rear view mirror. The Earlier Blue Car also had the old style 389 SD Mechanical Linkage installed on the carbs. They, at least, have the SD Tri-Power (Tube and Plunger) installed correctly in the picture. Plunger end attached to the Triangular Plate on the center carb. Tom V.
