hey folks! thought i would add the old goat to the collection here: 1968 gto, with a 474ci 6-71 blown, factory heads and block. about 650 horse, and almost the same on torque, on pump gas. purrs like a kitten, until you stomp on it, then it roars!

Thanks, it's in the biggest and heavy car 75 grandprix. i believe using a light car is to easy, heavy car gives more of a challenge, especially hooking it up. Been 11.32 at 119.75 with old 406ci motor and 6-71 and all on 93 octane pump gas, 6lbs of boost. Last weight of car for that number was 4225lbs. New motor shooting for high tens on pump gas.

Nice to see some early G bodys hiiting the road/track...I'm partial to them
Nice color choice....
No power adders on my GP....yet..
Question..what headers are on it?? I used some A body 2" Super Comps....they were hard to install.......hitting lower control arm mounts..

I ended up using a set of Dougs, 1 7/8", 3 1/2" collector.I tried a set of 2", Dougs, and had problems of them hitting the cross member and the shift linkage on the trans. I later learned other people were having the same issues. I still have to relocate the distribution block for the brakes. Thats a Nice car 60man. Dont see many 69\70 GP at the track. Was that GP on ebay a year or two ago? They Had one just like it, fiberglass hood, trunk and it was blue. Was going to bid on it but the wife said no.

Wow...they are long...
I did some more trimming on control arm mounts and will see if it helps.
I really hate the damn key hole bolt behind center ports..
I would trade off some power for ease of installation............
Not sure car was on ebay but I bought it from fellow PY'r Alex Brooks out of Florida..
Haven't made any full passes yet.
I t had been sitting since 2008 but is a well built car...

Default Starter

As soon as I get home tomorrow I will pull it out the box and see. Its a GM starter. You got me curious now. I dont remember if I had to unbolt the headers or not on my old GP. I will let you know.

If I hold my mouth just right I can just snake it in with the Super Comps..
With either a IMI mini or RobbMc starter...don't think it's possible with a GM starter...
