Well, a new year is almost upon us!

Hope to see the Tri-power Intakes sometime in January or beginning of February if Chris can
get them out!

Will let everyone know how they fit on my E-Head engine on the stand.

Thanks Tom, let us know how the fit is. Should be any day now and you and myself should be in the first group to receive one of the intakes. I have the money put aside for it $450.00. I just sent Steve (the man that is having these made) an e-mail to get the latest info. Will let you know if i get any info.

I hope we are in the first group Robert, but you never know.

Some of the intakes were sold ahead of time before Chris got any the first time.

If we get any of the first ones it will be because of CCass.

Since I live in the Tampa/St. Pete area, I stopped by Carmen's just before Christmas and saw one of the repro 1966 manifolds. It looked good. I only saw the one that carmen said they had at the Turkey rod Run. Also saw boxes of repro top plates for 2 barrel end carbs. (Carmen said he also had these at the Turkey Rod Run). I bought a repro top plate and currently using it on my 1963 tri-power rear carb. I compared a picture of old top plate vs repro and only difference is that repro says "CM" instead of "GM". You can not notice it with air cleaner on. They come in two different finishes (colors). I was told that Steve is working on getting GM license approval to use "GM". Also, another difference is the fuel line female connection threading on repro top plate does not dead end like original so stripping of threads should not occur.

I do not know any more on the 1966 alum manifolds.

9 thousand, 9 hundred, and 62 looks and not one real intake yet.

Maybe when we get to 10,000?

The Barry Grant Carbs are supposed to flow 250 each. We will see!

Tom,
You posted recently that you didn't think the new aluminum tripower could be ported to RAIV intake size. Would the same be true for a stock '66 iron manifold? I have acquired a spare '66 tripower intake and was thinking of trying to open up the ports/runners to match my ported 6X-4's.
Thanks,
Tim

Easiest way is to take a Ram Air 4 intake gasket,
install it in the proper orientation on your ported head, trim the gasket to where it matches your ported opening, and then checking the opening
against the 66 cast iron intake for material at the top of the port.

I have seen 66 Tri-power intakes bolted to Ram Air 4 heads in the past but the 66 intake port may have been smaller than the Ram Air 4 gasket opening. This is not all bad as it acts like a reversion dam on a street engine with a larger cam.

For track use though you would like the match to be pretty close. I do not have a 66 cast iron intake to make comparisons to at the moment.

IS IT POSSIBLE!? I was just told they are done and in route. Theoretically we could be shipping these Tuesday to customers that have had their name in for a while. Once we have them in hand, we will be e-mailing and calling in date order.
