Is there a picture of it out there? Where can I see it? I'm still wondering if it produces a colder air temperature inside the air cleaner.

That is a pretty nice setup on that '74 GA. Nice car too.

Adam - any links to your grafting of the '73-75 Pontiac ABody NASA/NACA hood ducts onto your GP hood (As shown on your Signature Avatar)?
IIRC you posted them somewhere on the ABody website in the past yes? Used plasma cutter, etc.? I'd like to see that here or another thread you start here in this PY '73-77 ABody section.

Thumbs up

This gentleman from Ontario, Canada totally fabricated this functional system using the assembly manual drawings. This is a 400/4 speed LeMans GTO coupe.

Thumbs up It's so easy for a clean engine compartment look without factory A/C option

I don't care who you are; Pontiac wise; that is pretty damn cool.

- The front end grills look like he used 1967 GTO Mesh and Turn Signal lights...and
- Is Air Cleaner Lid stamped steel, moulded, injection moulded, multi-piece welding?
- One thing I dislike about Grand Am/Can Ams is the large diameter steering wheels, I'd prefer a smaller diameter GT wheel like he used here or a factory GTO & Trans Am "Formula Wheel"...

Rick the pic you have here of the R/A on the 73 , is that made from an injection mold machine or possibly one of those new 3-D printers to make it up like that. I don't know how close you got to it or if yo got to talk to the owner or not, but any answers?? If it were a little flatter on the front side it would be perfect. He did a great job on that lid section. Also did you get any close up pics of the close out that went on the under side of the hood?

The lid is made from steel. He has over 100 hours in making the setup, and it is a functional system.

You could hammer metal and make a reasonably close one, but as said, it's many hours of work.
One could print it 3D using Nylon PA6 that should hold up to under-hood heat, but it's not common and would take high-end equipment to do it.

Confirmed the plastic lid is made of the same material as the radiator shroud, glass filled nylon.

So now there are 5 confirmed Ram Air systems that have surfaced, and a couple of guys that have parts and pieces, such as the hood pan.

3. Tom Goad's '73 GA sedan

5. A collector in Mass. (Bruce Middlemass) sold a complete setup for upwards of $10k within the last 4 years

Has anybody actually seen this or know what happened to it?

Bruce is a stand up guy, so I don't have any doubts that it existed. I have bought several NOS parts off from him over the years, but haven't talked to him in a couple.

I heard Bruce sold all his parts. Is he still involved in the hobby? I show him living in CT, but not sure if it's the same person. If the buyer of the parts wants privacy, we probably won't find out much unless it shows up on a car someday.

He hasn't posted on the Abodysite board in a couple of years, so it's safe to assume he's out of the hobby..

Canamman this is RIck the 73 gto owner from Canada. Talked to you at Carlisle . Just to let you know I am in the process of building a complete Ram Air System like mine. It will be fully functional . Will include air cleaner lid, hood pan , foam seals, and Naca or nasa hood screens. Operation via carb linkage position as in 70-72 Trans Am will not be included.
