To your points, this car isn't worth $80K IMO. I do believe the owner has that in it. Doing a frame off on a non-numbers matching car is really not a good ROI. Let's just assume the engine isn't NM. With a 12 bolt, it's just not numbers matching. It is a hellova nice car. The interior is stunning. We can all pick it apart and I see this as constructive. This is what potential buyers need to be made aware of. IMO, this has a lot going for it. It's not numbers matching and stuff like the brake pedal doesn't tip the scale for me. Who cares? It looks good, but that's what this car is. It's a really nice frame off non-numbers matching car. So much work went into this, which is why it's priced high. In the end, it is what it is and it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If the seller would come down a bunch, I'd love to own this car. Maybe $55K is the point where you were getting a deal? Too low? What say yeee? How much is it worth? This would be a good negotiating tactic if you were trying to buy it. look at what this car was taken down to: Look at this dash: The underside: #48 heads is correct for a 69 400 MT: It's a really beautiful car: But I don;t like the dark center of the Rally II's, cause it looks wrong to me. It's too black and should be more of a gray. |

71 Formula in AZ with a Cheby stroker at $80K BIN. Hard for me to believe someone actually thought that hood treatment with the screaming chicken was a good idea.

I usually don't like such a departure from stock but that color combination is rather interesting on that car.

It has a Pontiac engine in it, about the only thing I like.

70 GTO Judge convertible clone based on a 72 Lemans at BIN $38.5K in Missouri. The yellow console insert looks like crap, but the interior is fairly stock. The car was supposed to be a frame off. The seller's feedback includes a big red negative for a car sold this month, so do your research. The ad makes a lot of claims, like frame off, rebuilt engine/trans etc., I'd want to see the receipts.

71 GTO with some rust issues at $16.5K BIN in NH. The rear wing looks very much out of place and detracts from the car, but it's got a lot going for it, like NM. Pretty good deal IMO.

If we've seen this one before, it's worth a second look. 64 Bonneville convertible with 29K original miles at $37K BIN in Ohio. Super cool car, especially with the colored top.

67 Firebird 400 convertible that claims to be an investment grade car at $44.5K BIN OBO in Washington. first of all, I doubt it's a real 400. The side stripes are 350 HO, the air cleaner has the dumb "400-4" Buick sticker on a chrome air cleaner, it has mags, Camaro spoiler, and stuff like that. It's a very nice car and I love the color.
