I have a 67 HT with the shoulder belt option. I have all the paperwork from the original owner. Question I have is were retractors and or retainers used on the HT cars too? I have never read anything about them and I don't have them. I always use them. If nobody is in the passenger seat then I clip them together so they don't fly about. They are great once you get used to them.

No one thought that the tonneau would come from the factory as a kit in the trunk and the thinking was that the Dealer would have sent the car out to a local trim shop and the shop would have used whatever for a brace and then stitched up the cover and did the snaps, etc. So when I get the restoration going I'll take the car to a Tucson/Phoenix trim shop and see what they can do. The Forum discussion produced an idea to construct the brace from maybe fiberglass tent pole material.

Thats right I thought we had this discussion.
If you do get one made up keep us posted.
Cheers

Default 66 GTO: setup for a tonneau cover

A photo of the tonneau cover. I have never seen one on a car in real life; only in the accessory catalog.

So going thru belts
I bought a pair of shoulder harnesses
For my 68 convert years ago from
Ros6869.
And
I found another pair I think are hardtop rear shoulder harness as I’m organizing 4 apple boxes of belts

Can anyone confirm the belts on the left as rear shoulder harness.. I think they were out of a 70 sj but I didn’t label them
They have a typical 68-72 shoulder harness mount bracket and cover
But
They have buckles on them instead of
Male ends

Center pair are the 68 belts I bought from
Ros 6872
