I took my OBX headers to a couple friends, (welder and a resto shop) both said they look very well made and heavy (39lbs net wt.). This weekend I am gonna bolt them to a set of E-heads and will report back! Eric

UN-sure....I've only seen round port, which is what i needed. It seems strange to make round port, and NOT D port.....Eric

In general a body headers will fit 2nd Gen f cars. 1st gens are a totally different animal. They require specific headers to clear the lower A arm pockets. I'm building a round port 469 that I plan on dropping in a 70-73 firebird. I was aiming on dropping a pair of these in it.

I'm in the process of installing a set of OBX on my 65 GTO now. Pass side is done and about half way done with the drivers side(4 of 6 bolts)Drivers side slid right in! Had to remove and trim my Lakewood scattershield and lower control arm bracket on right side. Should be reinstalling all removed items by lunch time on Sat. The Z bar looks like it will go in too. Will know for sure Sat. So I'll let you know......

Keep us posted I have a 65 GTO project that is a stick that will get round ports. These look nicer than the IA multi piece ones I have.

OK- headers are in. Bad news is that my Z bar would not go in without modifying. I had this thing all mocked up with the body still off the frame and the geometry was not correct. The rod going to the throwout arm was on an angle. The lower arm on the Z bar needed to be shifted inward about 1/2-3/4 inch. Now with the headers in the lower arm of the Z bar would hit the header. I ended up cutting the arm off the Zbar to relocate it further in to be in line with the throwout arm. I will be cutting a new arm out of steel stock and welding it on the Z bar. I need to re-install the scattershield and trans to get the correct location of everything before I weld up the new arm.
Note: these headers are a very tight fit on my 65 GTO. They are very close to the left frame rail and the lower control arm bracket. Brake lines will need to be moved too.

Would it be easier to move a tube?

Looks like Global bushings in there.

No I think it was easier to relocate the arm of the Z bar. I will mock it back up today and measure for the new arm.
Yes- I'm running global control arms up front and edelbrocks in the rear.

Hey guys,i seen and read this thread a few days ago about these headers and all seem very good ,even though it appears one member had to do a mod to make the clutch pivot arm work with these headers. Oh....and also that they are for O-Port only. Well i couldn't help but mention how nice it may be to have a D-Port option. Well just recieved a email from them this mornning.....

"D-port style header will be here eta 16 weeks"

Now having learned that,i'll have to try and learn how to mod the pivot arm so as to use my manuel trans, prob as gto4life managed to do.......maybe i can get some good tips from how he done his!!!!! Glad i trippped upon this thread!

Mine bolted up nicely to my E-heads, but unfortunately touch the engine block. However, it is an IAII block so I expected as much...a set of Doug's did the same thing...once the motor is in the car, I'm gonna modify the headers to fit.....Eric

!
Well did they ever get the D ports out, did you buy them?
I looked on their site and it shows two listings for the '64-72 326-455 cid headers but no mention of which one is round port or D port??
