Catch words today are, original, barn find and leather interior.

I can't tell you how many times I see an ad for an early GTO or Firebird and it says, "RARE - Leather Interior"

Looks like optional 'horsecollar' seats.

I read a great deal of ignorance in the ad, but not any significant attempt to deceive.

ive run into some like this , guy on craigslist in some southern state, recently was advertising a 1969 350 ci GTO motor. I emailed him thru CL to let him know that he must be mistaken as no GTO left the factory with a 350 installed, he took offense and told me off lol Then he left the ad up and unchanged for weeks afterewards. I guess if someone is dumb enough to buy it as an original gto motor then they deserve to be ripped off. Buyer Beware.

I always found if any car is worth looking at the best time to negotiate the price is if your there and ready to buy.

Actually, more than 7000 GTO's left the factory with a 350 installed, but not in 1969.

No doubt, I'd want a 45 year old New York driven TA.

aha, I forgot the 1974 Ventura gto option package? going by memory the 1964-66 were 389 ci, then '68-69 were all 400's, '70-73 had 400ci or 455ci, and then yes I had to look this one up but 74 Ventura with the gto option came with a 350. Anyway, the guy i mentioned on CL was advertising a 1969 GTO 350ci motor, which im pretty sure never happened, as you said. So if anyone is advertising a 74 GTO 350 motor then it may be correct, Ill keep that in mind.

On the contrary, 1974 GTO left the factory with a 350.
