That's cool. What kind of HP are we talking here? Can you turbo a motor like that?

In the last picture, what is the pipe coming off the exaust manifold and running under the engine fan used for?

That pipe is for the intake heat risor. When cold, the exhaust crosses over under the intake manifold (for faster warm up) & exits back into the exh system.

Exhaust Crossover
It sends hot exhaust thru the intake to warm it up faster in the winter. (Yeah, what Keith said!)

Is the crossover pipe something most people keep on their cars now?

If they want originality and stock appearance - yes.
If they keep it pretty stock and drive it when the weather gets cold (below 40F) - yes. If it's only a fair weather car - it's a toss-up. If the intake is modified - no. If it's only used in the summer - If it's there leave it, if it needs replaced - no. They're getting hard to find and $$$. After the engine warms-up it's no longer needed and the flap below the exhaust manifold closes it off. |

I dont have any on my cars. Dont need them in this dry heat. Also, the biggest
performance improvement for the 4 cyl is to put a much larger free flowing exhaust on the car. This is usually done by installing a header of some sort. Once that is done, the intake manifold needs to have a block off plate bolted on it.

Its been a while since I posted here. I thought I would show the fuel injection rail I fit to the manifold I made for my 4 cylinder. I still have to make the hold down brackets for the rail....

Glad that you're sticking with it Charlie. I gotta see 700HP out of that thing. Looks really good and I see you've opened end of the runner into the full plenum.

Yeah. Only because with the e85 and high boost there wasn't enough needle and seat for the demand of fuel it needed. So this will be my last attempt to get it right....
