Seems the scoops and the split exhaust (maybe even the 50 extra ponies) worked! I don't recall OMT's earlier views of the car but I know our club president wasn't a huge fan but now has the same in the pic above /\/\/\!

I did not ever post any of my opinions on the 2004's. I think Pontiac Marketing messed up pretty badly, and I think the car got an inappropriately bad rap. I think the changes made to the 2005's were all good ones. I don't have any good pictures of mine yet, but here is what I have.

It's also interesting the same selction of color, seems to be popular with the recent buyers! And i think it's one they dropped for 06, figures!

Nope. They dropped Midnight Blue and Yellow and added a Spice Red and Brazen Orange. Nickle Pewter/Silver is a mid year color also for 2006

The more I drive the car the more it impresses me. It has a solid performance suspension ride and yet it is not too harsh. It corners extremely well and the acceleration is amazing for a new car. I have also been pleasantly surprised with my mileage. It is actually getting the advertised EPA numbers for an auto – 16/21. It is a very comfortable car to be in. It is a little difficult getting in and out. The steering wheel doesn’t get quite far enough out of the way for me, but it is easier than getting in and out of a Mustang.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. I do agree about getting in & out...it does take a little finesse. As for the mileage, I haven't come close to the advertised numbers, but that's because I've always got my foot in it.
The car is truly a blast to drive.

I thought the car had a tilt/tele column?

It does, but it doesn't tilt very far.

My wife got tired of her '94 E150 conversion van and bought a black/black 2005 GTO with the full sport appearance package back in June when the employee pricing program included the GTO. Great car, faster than her van! Really like the deeper, louder sound of the mufflers in the SAP. The car has been perfect, not a single item to fuss about. Haven't talked her into going to the local drag strip to face off against my '67 goat but that is definitely going to happen.

I'm still loving my '04. Just about to turn 20K on it after a little more than a year. Zero issues.

The more I drive it, the better it looks. The performance MORE than lives up to the GTO legacy........

Unhappy

I have had my '04 for just over a year now with no problems until 3 weeks ago. After only 12K miles the front tire started to shred on the inside edge. Not the shock rub like a lot of others have had. Took it into the dealer and after 2 weeks they changed the front springs. They said the springs were collapsing and the tire was getting shredded by one of the brackets. Got 2 new front tires as well. Thankfully it was all warranty work, even the rental G6 for 2 weeks. Now the trunk light switch quit and that's on order. And this week the dome light has quit. I am starting to get nervous about this.

Keeping my fingers crossed.
