Also if you are not experienced or a little rusty with feeler gauges like me, you can use a GO - NO GO method. EXample, set intake at .024 then see if a .025 will slip in, if it does you are to loose. Exact measurements count for a lot when setting solids.

turn the engine over by hand in the direction of it's running rotation until the exhaust pushrod begins to move up to open the valve. Now adjust the intake valve of the same cylinder and make sure you are on the base circle of intake lobe.to adjust the exhaust valves turn the engine over until the intake pushrod moves all the way up and past max lift and one half to two thirds of the way back down.now on base circle. adjusting to approx
.22 to .28 on both should be close.
