Hey BR,have you called him and asked what condition it's in? Morley's car is most likely the one in the field you remember John. It's a hdtp.

BR57,

My apologies, I guess I read something in your reply that was not there. My fault for getting to far off subject, I also must admit that a bit of debating is fun for me on this site. The best single source I can think of for the history of Canadian Pontiacs is "Pontiac the complete history" by Thomas Bonsall.

I don`t care what anyone thinks, that is a cool car. I remember seeing a picture of one rotting away next to a garage, in a muscle car magazine a few years back. It was also a 69, 4 speed 427 car, as I recall.

The car actually looks quite nice ... it could be a nice driver without doing a thing (other than tune-up etc.)

The coin for the car is too steep however. If it was the 435 hp version of the 427 ... droooool ....

chevy drivetrain or not, that's a sharp car.

i'd drive it like i stole it and then stuff a 455 in it to really confuse people.

How are you MH,
Apparently that car was super crusty underneath, and full of mould inside,
A dissapointment to those who looked.

Too bad it's in that shape guys. Any car from Northern NY and Canada usually ended up like that 427/4 speed is now. Our cold and salt covered highways saw to that, especially if they were daily drivers. Not many of our parents could afford two vehicles, so the one they had took a beating to say the least. Most all the great cars that we'd collect today ended up rust buckets and were junked. Too bad she isn't in restoreable shape and parts easy to find. Tho a basta*d to many it is one cool car, especially seeing it's one of only twelve made.

I was raised in Massena NY and as our Canadian friends know..... the winter weather was hell back in the 60s and 70s. Wasn't 20 to 40 below zero fun, not to mention the windchills of 80 below? Along with the winds, 3 feet of snow and 6 foot snow drifts were just plain miserable. God, I don't miss that crap. The Ice Storm of 98 was bad enough.

No Mark, I didn't look at it, but I was talking to someone who did.
He said it was pretty dissapointing. The owners do realize they have somthing very rare, but unbelievably, seemed completly unaware of the poor condition underneath. The guy I talked to never mentioned a stuck engine, but said it was really, really rough underneath. A true lesson about garaging a car on a damp concrete floor.
If it was was offered at a reasonable price, it would be a great project for someone to restore. Chevy chassis, drivetrain and floorpan, all easily available. Eventually someone will do it.

Cheers, Mark.

I don't see a driveshaft. How would you know it's not posi Mark? It must be at least a 12 bolt anyway. And what about the AIR system on the engine, did Canadian cars have that in 69'? I've never seen it, that and the "Chevrolet Tonawanda" decals look unusual.

if one of you guys buy that car i've got a 69 impala with a frame that looks better than that one.

i'd be glad to kill a chevy to restore a pontiac.

Yes,it's a 12 bolt 3:31 peg leg.The A.I.R. is factory,as is the Tonawanda decal. The other stickers on the valve covers were added by him.The drive shaft is out to push it out of the garage.I'm still rolling it around in my head?
