I ran Fram fliters until 1992 when I had a "core shift" failure. I followed Frams process to the letter to try and get the parts to repair my engine. I will point out, I was not asking for the entire engine here only a new cam/lifters, as the loss of oil pressure callapsed my lifters beyond repair. I NEVER received one penny from them evenyhough they recognized the issue as a manufacturing defect.

In hind-sight I find it odd that the local Walmart where I bought the oil change from had the forms on hand to file my claim. I eventually retired the 79 Malibu to being my "Fishing" car! As for me, I would never run a FRAM filter again even it it was free. JD

Good luck to the new owner of the Ventura II! Sold the car after 13+ years. Look for it on the Hot Rod Power Tour in the future as it's currently being re-configured as a Pro-Touring ride!
