I suppose I should add that there is a similar mirror in front of the car to check headlamps, bright lights, front turns, etc.

Cool barn find

Saw this car several years ago (in a storage building) northern WV. I think it was taken to Nebraska later on.

And no one says anything about the round port engine being inspected. Must be an HO or SD as the valve covers are painted. Any ideas which year.

It's been discussed at length in several other threads (probably including this one).

Since he is wearing a tie he is assuredly not an hourly line inspector but the salaried area foreman. When the foreman is working on something usually something is badly wrong and there is an urgent need to get it fixed.

1973 SD.

The bridge is covered in a vinyl sign (almost like a wrap). They are starting to do some work, in terms of placing historical markers/signage and hiring security.

They still have a long, long (long) ways to go to make it look like anything.

Keith, do you think this photo is from inside the Packard plant, or an auto show?

My guess would be Auto Show.

The ceiling tiles and general arrangement (including the escalators in the background) look like Cobo Hall to me.

On the subject of that round port engine the supervisor is working on ....

Do you think the whole engine side of that flex plate was painted, or just the part visible? Or was the plate painted before installation?

I noticed that too. Maybe to facilitate installation of the temperature sender?

When I worked on the line at the Framingham BOP plant in 1972, all management folks wore a white shirt and tie, even the shop foreman.
