Yeah, it is a whole lotta fun. Sort of like a trashy date. It's loud and flashy; it is not generally welcome in polite company; it's been surgically altered and smokes a little when it drinks, and if you push the right button it's top comes off....There's not much to not like here, but I've had it four years and we'll never get married. Probably time to trade it in on a newer model....

Sure you woud Craig, you keep telling yourself that !!!!
Maybe someone else's SD you would, but I think your the kind of guy that would respectfully put it through it's pace's if you owned it ..... I on the other hand sometime's drive it like I stole it. Gotta burn the carbon out of it and clean off the tire's at the same time. |

No mike it does'nt bother me.The Rally's is how the car came from the factory.I decided to change the appearance. I almost put Honeycomb's on it this year, but with the yellow paint I would have thought a Girl owned it.( HA-HA )

The same way you drive my old girl? Or are you not allowed in a big cubic inch car?

Of course I can't find the article now, but I was reading the other day how Pontiac licensed the name "Super Duty" from Ford in 1961-1962 for their car line. Ford was using it for their big truck line. Pontiac even used the same hood scoop from the old Ford "Super Duty" trucks of that era on the 1962 SD cars.
OK, some of you are probably saying "Duh!" and have known about this forever, but it never really dawned on me before.

Brian,
That is 1 of 2 made by a friend of mine.He of coarse build's model's as a hobby. He actually built the first one to show me cause he that my car was so unique. It started life as a regular issue 1/25 scale 1974 Formula Plastic model Kit. It is painted the correct code 51 ( Sunstorm Yellow ) and he used 69 Judge stripes from a GTO kit. |

Here's an idea - since your friend is obviously talented scale modeling, perhaps he could modify a 1:18 scale ERTL '70 to '73 Trans Am to give you the proper '73 SD 455 Formula look. Seems like it'd be "a piece 'O cake" for him to fill the frt fender extractors, remove the wheel spats, Rr deck lid spoiler & air dams, scuff the body, and color change he's already matched your OEM. That way you'd have a 1:18 1973 Shaker metal body Firebird. Yes? Ask him what he thinks. Like the '70 & '73 Ertl's shown below: |
