Yeah, the computer it different. I basically do it the way TJ said...Just hit enter a couple of times to open up a space.
Like this. I don't worry about the 'indent' with the space bar..Just hit 'enter' a couple of times after I end a sentence.

That's Just Too Easy!
Now don't that just beat all! Just hit enter twice & skip a line whenever you want to.
What could be any easier than that? I've always said "Most anything is easy if you know how". I think i can do that. Thanks a lot! By the way, just to let everybody know i wasn't lying about the typing deal, i got TJ to get a shot out of my high school yearbook. I'm not really a dummy. I just look and sound that way! Hee-Haw |

I was tempted to mention using 2 instead of to, myself. Using 2 really slows down the reading, particularly for those who've had any speed-reading. It's out of context and makes one pause every time they see it. I'm glad you can accept things in the way they're meant.
Read back over your past posts, I think you'll see what I mean about using 2.

Don (glad to learn your name), your style is your style. I agree that using numerals for words is verboten but by all means, keep the diary-of-the-past going.
Maybe sometime we will cross paths. My dad was class of '66 - you're way farther along than he would have been. Are you anywhere near Alexandria, LA? |

I had just told TJ to look at that cool paisley shirt. Hey, they wuz HOT back then.
And in just a few years big bell bottoms came into the mix. Ah, the "good ole days". That triggered another flashback. I remember one night in probably '75 or '76. I was decked out in medium bell bottom Levi's, a striped shirt and high heel penny loafers. I rode around town that night with a known dope smoker, they called "Stick", in his '68 GTO. We just sipped a few suds that night. I guess it was a slow night for him. The musclecar era was just about gone & Disco was just getting started good. Hey, I didn't mean to get you started double-spacing between every line Don. Just a double space every once in a while to mimic paragraphs...you know, every eight or ten lines or so, make a space.

I suppose I used the old saying "If a little is good, then more is better". Hey, don't give up on me. I'll keep working on it until it gets better. It took years for me to get in this condition. But maybe it won't take quite that long to make a few adjustments.

Squirrel Skinners
I may have mentioned these, but couldn't find the post. Back around 1970-71 I was working as an ironworker apprentice at our local paper mill. At the time I was assigned as a welders helper to an old cajun ironworker I called Mr. Robert. He was always full of humor and monkey shines and could find all sorts of ways to goof off.
He decided to use some company time to build and sell squirrel skinners to the other construction workers on the job. When one of them who hunted, saw one that another worker had bought, they would come to Mr. Robert and contract him to build them one. He probably built and sold dozens on that job alone. And what was my job as welders helper during this manufacturing process? To make sure he didn't get caught. I would keep a sharp eye out for a white hat(boss, foreman, inspector,etc.) and warn him if one got too close, at which time, he would switch over to welding on whatever he was supposed to be welding on. He always stayed busy, so from a distance most who didn't know him would think he was just doing his job. Those who knew him would come by and just laugh at him & sometimes order a skinner for themselves. I wound up with a couple of examples of his handiwork. I recently ran across them down in the old barn I'm using for a shop now. I haven't hunted in years. But if I did, it looks like these would still work just fine. They are low milage originals. And as a side note, I was driving to work, back then, everyday in my '69 RA3, 4-speed GTO. It was always waitng for me in the parking lot, with an ice chest full of cold tasty beverages. And it was in that old Goat that I hauled these genuine Cajun built squirrel skinners home back in the day. |

Just Another Day
Well, here's the latest in my ongoing Pontiac story. As many of you know, I recently discovered Duck Dynasty. I started a thread about it in the street section. Aparently, several people enjoyed it, because it soon had over 800 hits, if I remember correctly.
But not everybody was happy with it. So Yesterday, someone complained about it being on the street site, suggesting that the moderator should move it to the Lobby. Well, that makes sense to me. But people get off the subject on a large % of the threads on this site. And many engage in heated arguments and cuss fights that go unchecked. So I tried to post a reply explaining that I was not interested in 90+ % of the threads on this site, and therefore just simply chose not to click on to them. I suggested that this might be a good plan for anyone who doesn't care for a particular thread. But when I tried to post my reply it was blocked by the moderator, with no explanation. So, I assumed that the mod would just simply move the thread to the Lobby. That makes sense, doesn't it? But that is not what happened. Instead, the mod immediately wiped out every trace of the entire thread, every post. No trace of it can even be found on my posting history. So, I have to ask, Whats the deal here? There is still a record of all the posts of some on the race forum who badmouthed me more than a year ago, and yet this lighthhearted thread is wiped out in a matter of seconds, minutes at the most. Does this mean that cussing and arguing is ok, but anything clean that might give someone an occasional chuckle is bad, and therefore should not be allowed on PY? I am extremely interested in what you guys think! So please, don't be bashful! Lets here it. If a little clean humor is not wanted on this site, I'll simply try to never again offend anyone by posting any of it. I'm listening! |

The Stude
I think I told ya'll about my first shifting experience. It was in one of the old bullet nose Studes from either '50 or '51. It was a black Champion 4-door. And, of course, the back doors were the "suicide" type, opening from the front. It probably looked something like the 1st pic. I can't recall if it was a '50 or '51. Couldn't find a single pic of it in our old scrapbooks.
As I've mentioned, a red Stude pickup was my first daily driver, in the summer of '55. Studes were still popular in those days. For anyone interested, I posted a couple of pics of Stude cars, pickups, and big trucks on the Tow Truck Tales thread in the Lobby. |

We Get Storms
Sometimes we get some violent thunderstorms around here that will blow down some big trees. We had one of these not too long ago. TJ discovered a big Pin Oak across one of her horse riding trails. It almost got one of the '69 birds I'm storing for MB. There are four in all. The one from the empty parking spot is over at a neighbors shop, donating parts. I got the upper motor mounts off of it for my '68 bracket bird project.
The tree was about 5' across. It was forked, and about 70-80' tall. Each fork was about 28" in diameter. One fell to the north. The other fell to the south, and landed on a 2-ton Chevy truck, which saved the green '69. By the way, this is the same car I mentioned that I bought for $300 while somebody was stealing TJ's purse out of our truck, which we had left unlocked, just outside the building. It was originally an overhead cam 6 with a manual tranny. It was restorable when I bought it, but as you can see has just been used for parts. TJ had to clear another trail around the tree. The tree makes my Kioti look small. But I can assure you, it's a full size CK27 with a five foot bushhog and a front end loader. There's some more truck pics on the "tow truck tales" thread in the Lobby. Some of the pics I took won't upload for some reason. I've got a few more tree pics, if they'll upload. Man, I sure would like to have those wheels on that differential lying on the ground and on the red '69. What are they, if you recall?
