Unicorn car for many of us, well done restoration with legitimate numbers matching engine. Well known car with a great history.
What part of the combination beyond being a Ram Air II car made it rare? The Deluxe part of the bench seat? We know 98 of the 110 were 4 speeds.

The combination of the deluxe bench and 4 speed is rarely seen - unless you can provide even a handful of others you've seen over the years. Like I said, combine that with the RA II and it is likely the only one of the 98 with that combination of options.

You don't need to challenge me on this - I can consider it a good car with an odd combination of options and you can consider it run of the mill - doesn't matter to me.

Not intending to challenge, the Ram Air II part alone makes it rare car. I've only seen 3 (5 when you include GTOs). Two of the 3 had bench seats and I didn't pay attention to Deluxe versus Standard interior.

What has intrigued me more about this particular car is its struggle to find a home after the sale at Mecum Indy.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the car or it's pedigree and everything to do with it's owners. I'm not certain of Phil's reasons for selling it, he didn't quite share them when we had breakfast at MCACN a few months ago, but he is in the process of building a truck stop & family center on some property he owns off the interstate so that may have something to do with it although he may just not be interested in the car. The prior owner, not Joe Cione sold it quickly and cheaply to Phil because he needed the money fast and Phil was willing to give him X dollars quickly.

Red/red is really uncommon. Nice car, but at $23K it's priced a little high IMO.

69 Trans AM for $139.9K. Nice car, but I don't think it's $139.9K nice. What do you think?

I looked at it and passed when it was very local to me (2 miles), and long-time owner was asking $18k. Both quarters had been skinned and lots of little things needing attention imo. 99% sure its in the hands of a broker/flipper now, as name and location are familiar from a much nicer Atoll Blue/Blue '70 I almost bought a year ago.

Four doors are the best.
Plenty of room to stretch out.
Easier to access the back seat with your favorite girl.
No hugging the steering wheel when friends want in or out of the car, like a 2 door.

On that Goodyear sales brochure with the girl holding the spare tire..................
It should be Photo Shopped so it shows her holding a body and exclaiming the virtues of Pontiac's large trunk space.

You want to know what bugs me about some people who work on cars ?
They spend all of this time and money on the exterior paint, new interior, shiny chrome everywhere, rebuilt engine & a highly detailed engine, new hoses, etc. etc.
Nobody takes the time to paint the engine compartment. The firewall and wheel wells look like crap.

I actually like that one quite a lot. It originally had a Cameo Ivory painted top. Pretty car in a condition that you could enjoy on the street.
I'd have to put the Quadrajet and rocker trim back on it though.

Can't say I've ever seen one with a painted top.

Here's a 1980 dirty birdie T/A. What makes this unique is the hard top, as most of them were T-tops. It may look like hell, but being a CA car I doubt there's rust which is a huge $$ savings in bodywork, which is the hardest part. NR starting at $1.25K. Junk 403 needs to be replaced with a 400 anyway. Good start to the T/A you can make any color combo.

69 Firebird T/A clone. If you look past the bird on the hood and the seat covers, this looks like a nice car. Starting bid $7500. Located in Colorado.
