Nothing at all. I apologize for causing any problems. My first was at the time piss ed me off because he new what I wanted.I was willing to pay,the money wasn't a problem. He made a once in a lift time order almost not happen. The owner and his son plus Jim Miller made it happen. This was the 2nd SD sold there.I shouldn't have brought it up sorry.

What was the breakdown of the 58, 1974 SD Formulas, stick vs auto, a/c vs non-a/c? Mine SD Formula is an auto-a/c.

I know in 1974 for the SD Formula's there were 17 Stick cars made and 41 Auto's. As far as the breakdown of NON-A/C Auto's,I dont have that number. But givin the info provided by the number of 1973 SD Formula's that is available it has to be close as well.I too would like to see someone go the microfilm records and give us the breakdown in number's like they did in 1973.

Why statistics exist for 73 Formula SD's
The reason we have a complete, 100% breakdown for the 73 Formulas and not for the 74's is that, sometime in the mid 90's, an enthusiast had a strong interest in the 73 Formula's. Through hard work and dedication, he was able to obtain all 43 VIN's through communication with each state's DMV. He then ordered the PHS documents for all 43 cars. He allowed me to compile the data on those 43, which appeared in one of the SD Registries, back in the time when they were printed and mailed. I have to believe the opportunity to gather this type of information from the DMV is no longer permitted. PHS, by contract, is not allowed to mine the microfilm for statistics. They are only able to fill orders from customers who provide a VIN. So, we will never be able to obtain a 100%breakdown on the 74's like we have for the 73's.

The greatest Firebird Formula ever built IMHO. Radio delete, 4-speed. What a beast. Rick Mahoney pics, his car.

Nicest SD formula maybe...
I would rather have the never built 70 RAIV 4 speed formula with dual snouts. I hold that the snout hood is the reason a formula is a formula...

Scott did a nice job on the car and Ricks had it for quit sometime now. He offered to race me title for title against my four speed duty. Unfortunately my car hadnt had near the engine work his car did so that race never took place. Heard its ready for the pure stock?
Agree a Formula isnt a Formula in my book without the original Formula Hood. Killer car though and would love to rip it through the gears. |

Shaker hood makes the car look more serious.. Formula hoods look "cartoonish" IMO.

SD-455 lump under the hood trumps two lumps on top.

Yup. That was why the original owner of my SD Formula ordered a Formula in the first place back in Spring of 1973. He was mighty angry in July 1973 when it showed up with that shaker. And as a salesman back then you would not have wanted to deal with a 6'7" 285 lb., pissed-off purchaser.
