I notice it aims the occupant straight at the windshield.

Then again .... my dad would pile eight kids in the back of the truck to go get ice cream. Only rule was we had to sit down.

I was wondering “Why is that Monte Carlo so high on the list?” until I noticed it was one of the few with “low miles.” I bet that Mach I had 60,000 on it.

Different times for sure.
Playing around in the back seat while Dad drove, Him smoking with windows up of course.
Sitting up front between Mom & Dad, no belt of course.

I remember when I was teenager (I'm 52) my dad took the family (4 of us) to church in his 1963 Corvette. The only seats are for the driver and passenger. My sister and I had to sit backwards in the back to fit comfortably. Fun times.

We used to do the same in my Fathers 63 E-Type. Not a later 2+2.

Default bike and bird

This is the mid 70s, I took a 20 inch bicycle and relaced the back rim to accept 10 speed sprockets and changed the whole bike to a 10 speed dirt bike, Oh yea my uncles 68 400/4 speed Firebird is in the back ground, I owned it 2xs before I let it go, its still around somewhere because I saw it for sale on "Racingjunk" about 5 years ago in very bad shape.

This is a scan from the local newspaper so it's not a very good picture - it was taken at the Minnesota State Fair back in 1962. It's a black and white photo so there's no way to be sure, but that 1961 Bonneville on the right could possibly be the car I own today...it sure looks like it.

A friend of mine used to race in Maryland during the 60's while he was stationed at Walter Reid Army Hospital in D.C. His name is Don Sonnier.

Stuarts comment reminded me of a similar claim that I can make:

It's hard to say from a black & white photo but this could be our '63 sitting behind Royal.

Some defining features:

Silver on the front header panels, surrounding the grilles
Silver paint around the body side trim
Body colored wheels
Standard (non remote) mirror
Royal sticker on the sail panel

Might be the same car sitting in the background of this first photo (behind Mr Wangers). My understanding is that there was a red car, a Silverleaf green car and our Nocturne blue car with this "Bobcat" paint scheme. I think the green car was used for the article.
