The '65 GTO is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed and this is one fine example.

72Pontiac - it is Fontaine Blue but they look pretty close on the color charts. Thanks for the compliment on the wheels. I really like the look.

Jery H - if only we could put one together for $800 today. Greg Reid, I agree. I tghink the 65s are works of art - especially the tail lights and rear trim piece.

Some update photos from today. Just waiting on a spare steel wheel to be painted, another redline, and my wheel which has been at PY forever being refurbed.

Perfect
Man! What a great job. You gotta be proud.
If you get a chance would you shoot a picture of the cowl area showing the routing of the windshield washer hose and correct fasteners? Don't have much left my self, having an issue now with the fender alignment and getting the rocker trim aligned. Once I get that fixed all I have left is installing front bumperand interior. |

What a great looking car.
Now get it out on the streets and get ready to see a lot of 'thumbs up', you deserve them. |

Thanks for the compliments all. I've driven it a little. Had to clean my new carpets on the passenger side already. On my break in run, the tower clamps on the molded hose that goes from the back of the motor to the heater core were not sealing tight enough. When the system was pressurized, it was leaking at the core's nipple and of course, due to a slight slant of the nipple, coolant was running into my heater box. It then would leak out of the damper shaft. I first thought that I had a bad brand new heater core and I was ready to run naked screaming through the woods thinking about having to pull the front end apart to change it out again. Apparently it was just the clamps and even though they are wittex clamps, I could not get them tight enough on that hose to stop the leak. There are now two worm gear clamps on the hose with the tower clamps for looks only.
Michael, I will take a couple of photos but I do not think that I should be used for correctness. There are lots of folks on here that could steer you in the right direction. The large washer hose from the reservoir goes, I believe, across the bottom of the core support and then along the top of the inner fender/underneath or behind the driver's side fender mount. There are two small holes in the core support that the hose feeds through on each end but the hose I got at my local napa is too fat. I did order the correct small hoses for the pump to nozzles. Should have ordered the other hose at the same time.
