its a neat part they can make a little extra on when they sell a set of heads but is it even neccessary? my hi port combo ran fine pluged, my cv 1 combo ran fine plugged, my ehead combos are plugged. Granted nothing over 13.5:1 and most were 11.5:1.

Not necessary at all but it will make KRE money because people think they need it.

That's the only reason i can think of to buy one, for looks.
Admittedly the crossover is cheaper than i expected it to be. |

Its needed, I know of a street driven, high horsepower aftermarket block engine with High Ports. When it came apart after several thousand miles and trips to the track the engine builder, a Super Stock guy with excellent credentials said the front 2 cylinders showed signs of excessive heat.
No reason not to buy one as far as I am concerned. |

If that's the case you probably have to do some machine work to get it to fit.
It's sad you have folks buy it because they make it. |

The only reason there would ever be heat issues is if you blocked the bypass and didn't create another way for the water to bypass while the t-stat is closed. Once the t-stat opens it's normal flow at that point |

That's relative...in the hot part of the summer doing highway driving ( 60 + miles) or long stop and go traffic I have seen it at 200.

The crossover showed up. It looks really nice. Quality is better than the Warrior crossover next to it.
The water openings on the sides are noticeably smaller than the Warrior. I may enlarge them. I run a 160deg thermostat. And always have a 1/8" hole in there just so I don't get a air pocket while filling. Not for any by pass reason. You can see the obvious casting flaws in the Warrior unit. Small batch casting. Ugly but it still worked. |

The casting is far better than the Warrior casting and they are not known for leaking.

Yeah the casting quality of the S-K and Warrior intakes was kind of crude...
