Altjhough my eyes aren't the best, I believe I can see the ring clips in the picture you show of the back of the wheel. At least I think I see them.
I usually just use a needle nose pliers to remove.

If these aren't the style with the clips, they would be the later/latest variety that had snap on rings. I just connected another PY member with a friend of mine who had 2 of those. My friend is selling his wheels on ebay, and whomever buys them, I am going to try and sell my original rings (clip style) to. The Parts Place/Barry Martin rings don't fit very well at all on either the reproduction or the oriiginal wheels.

As for the ring being jammed in there, its not a penetrating oil problem. Although I don't think its the case with yours, the rims sometimes fuse themselves to the rings because they are dissimilar metals. My tried and true method is using the edge of a small length of wood on the portion of the ring that goes between the spokes, and hit with a hammer. You have to work your way around. Since the wood is softer than the ring, there is no worries about damage to the ring.

Andre', did you go to the Old Town Kissimmee show?
If so, did you see the Hurst wheels there?

Yes, and yes. If I was still buying wheels, I would have gotten them and combined with my rings and bullets.

Thumbs up NICE SCORE

Always dug the Hurst wheel mainly due to the limited # produced,
so when seen it's a big deal.
I saw this '65 sporting a set last year down in NC.

You need to mount them as-is for a photo shoot

If anyone is interested, I know of a single "spear-spoke" wheel for sale. The wheel is in pretty good unrestored condition. Bare wheel. Located in MI.
