I know a couple of people with them. Cool cars. Unless the value of them crapped out I'd say one in that stellar condition for that price is dirt cheap. But that price also leads me to believe it may be a clone.

Two things that raise suspicion for me:

Would anybody buy an impractical Super Duty back in the day and and end up street driving it enough to put over 50,000 miles on it? (the ad copy lists an incorrect 34K when it shows 54K.....typo?)

What performance enthusiast would order a dual-quad SD and not get at least a 3-series rear axle ratio? I have a hard time believing a dealer inventoried SD would be ordered with 2:73 gears either. Seems like the factory would discourage that, if they even allowed it at all.

Then again, if the seller can botch up the odometer reading like that, maybe the rear axle is actually a more realistic 3:73.

If you read the ad text it says it has an SD intake and dual quads. Nowhere do they say it is a real SD car.

I believe it's a clone. You can see the first part of the VIN tag in the one picture, and it doesn't match up with any of the cars on the list in Pete McCarthy's book.

After re-reading it now, I realize that.
True, they don't say it's a real SD car but the phrase 'Super duty' is hap hazardly inserted in two other places. Once, all by itself, so it tricks the mind into reflexively thinking it's a true SD.

The 2 Four Carbs and the Super duty package 4 speed trans and Alum factory style headers to the eight / luggers and well its just so pretty and Cool!

1962 Pontiac Catalina Cameo White over Tri-Color red inter/ Super duty / Borg Warner 4 speed and Super duty dual Quads and Alum intake package

Somebdy should ask him what the hell is a 'Super duty package 4-speed trans?
