Blue,
I went to Columbus today to take some pics of my buddie's 57 Chevy. I also took a few pics of the 64 GTO. It is still not painted. I posted them in the lobby.

Blue, looks nice. But if the frame is fuzzy... quit buying the fuzzy paint. Or shave it. LOL

Not much to report, installed the new front to rear brake line and 3/8 fuel line. Also put the rotors and calipers on,I am having to open up the flex line brake holder.I have 1 done
Also started on assembling the rear 11' brakes,I have the drivers side done.I am using the '91-'96 Impala 11",I found out that both sides are the same as the Impala uses a e-brake cable that comes out the rear-across the axle and forward with the drivers.SO I drilled out the front of the backing plate(so the e brake cable comes forward)but I am looking for the e brake bracket that fits tha pass side.It looks like this(pic of drivers side, bottom)When I get the brakes and the emergency brake cable done then we drop the shell on the frame! But now I wait!

I was able to get the e brake bracket I needed so the rear brakes are done.Should have the Mickey Mouse looking emergency brake cable retainers today. Then I can get the e brake cable set-up installed so I can drop the shell on the frame!

You're supposed to do all that before you put the body back on? Where's the fun in that?

Blue, do you have the 389 for it. Go with the 400 until you get, or get, your 389 rebuilt then swap. That's what I'm doing with my 66. 400 went in last October, 389 to be rebuilt this year. When I'm done I'll have the 400 as a spare.

Right now I have the bottom end of the original 389 with 400 heads.I have most of the original motor but it would never be total numbers matching.I would save the original block heads and intake and build a 400 for more power.

Working on fixing my downpipes, they hook up to the R/A manifolds.I had a shop replace the body mounts in my GTO and a few other things and they did a really good job.So I had them to install the correct down pipes to replace what I had as a make do.I coulds tell the guy wasn't getting how it worked,(sealing with the flange)so I got a couple pics from people here on how the hooked up.That was a year ago in Texas.
When we disassembled the GTO I saw what they did they cut the top 2 inches and welded a straight piece of pipe and TACK WELDED the flanges to the pipe!
I took the new short piece of downpipe by the exaust shop for them to cut a little off, take the tack welded flang off the old set up and put it on the new one and expand the pipe ends.I also asked if they had a couple clamps. The charge...no charge..I told him I had to pay him something so he said $5 bucks!
