I liked it with the Rally II's but got tired of the bias tires. They're terrible. And Im not much of a fan of the radial redlines either. Those wheels were painted to match the car and the redline looked really nice with the red stripe down the side of the car. Oh well. Im happy with it for now. When I can get some money together (hopefully next year) Ill be doing some "upgrades" to it. |

66 Lemans Droptop
I have a 67 400/400 to install this spring....along with 2 10"subs-two amps-4 speakers and a DVD player. Cant wait for the snow to go!! |

OK....I dug down deep into the archives and found a pic of my '66 Tempest back when I had it at the 1993 GTO Nats in Indianapolis. They let us drive around the racetrack once and then you got to stop to have your picture taken.
I ended up drag racing that year in the GTOAA drag racing event at Raceway park. Got 2nd place behind Mike Cooper's '63 that year, but put a bunch of other big guys on the trailer with consistent low 13 second times during the non-GTO drag race event....... The car eventually ran a best of 11.80 @ 113MPH in Cordova at the '96 at the POCI nats in '96. A nice street driven '66 with manners that would "rip your nuts off and throw 'em out the window" (to quote Cliff Ruggles) when you stepped on it.

found this 66 for five grand last summer. 389 tri power 4 speed car....pretty straight, needs paint and some minor body work. interior is near perfect and runs great with great power. snow snow go away!

Tommy, nice find and she looks good too. I'd say you "stole" it at 5 grand. Especially with the 389 tri power.
