I think its some ad-lib creativity
A good friend in high school had a 75 or 76 White Nova with R-W-B striping accents and it was a factory Spirit of America edition (had R-W-B call-out decals on fenders and maybe the trunk lid too) Don't remember if all the GM brands copied that for the Bicentennial ,,, but I do remember several of those Nova's running around town. fwiw |

Buick had bicentennial cars for sure. One of my high school classmates' family owned the local Buick store, he drove a new (1976) Spirit of America Regal. I didn't care for it then, but they would be quite unusual now.
I really like the Grand Am! James Q

I remember seeing a 1976 LeMans in a scrap yard in Vermont. It was white with red guts and it had some stripes and such denoting it was an Olympic edition. It even had a hood ornament with the Olympic logo. The Olympics were in Montreal that year so maybe it was a Canadian car?
But I don’t think Pontiac did a bicentennial edition? I know they had a 50th anniversary of Pontiac thing on a GP that year.

I’m pretty sure that was a car offered- or at least a concept car.

At minimum ,,, 74-75 Grand Ams did have RWB stripe package option available from factory , on any color G/Am.
But if Pontiac did any of the Spirit cars , seems like they would have been 1976 models . No G/A's in 76 |

I want to say it was a show car that had a custom spoiler- very similar to a Can Am spoiler.

Thanks Stuart.
I would have bet a dozen donuts it was a 75 or 76 just because of the "theme". And then owed somebody some donuts. 74 was a bit early of a release He came close to getting us both killed in that car , closest near death experience I ever had. The Buicks were 1975 and called Free Spirit (Red White Blue) Said to be Century's (maybe the same thing as a Regal idunno) They look WAY Cooler than the SoA Nova I had never seen one before until I just googled it They did the FreeSpirit again in 76 but it was Silver with Red Orange Black decals I do remember seeing 1 of those around town back when. |

I have also seen 74 Impalas (Caprices?) in SofA trim and a 74 El Camino, but I think it was a dealer tape job,
BVZ, you made me look back at my classmates Buick, it was the 75 and I agree with you, much more attractive than the 76. James Q

I had a 66 Chevelle after high school and I always wanted to get another one, but drop a Pontiac 455 in it "just because".
