Guys name was Kerry. I inspected the car and was going to buy it but we could not get together on price. I was the one who informed the guy on what he had. He did not even know. I took pics of the Original buildsheet showing it to be a documented black stripe and wing car.
It's a Ram IV 4 spd 390 car but unfortunately the entire drive train is missing. Very cool car!.

was his name Doug? I sold him my Orbit Orange '70 Judge and for some odd reason...every time someone tells me they have a white '70...I immediately ask what color the spoiler is. He stated "Well...it was black...but I 'fixed' it!" I asked if he realized what he had done and in fact...he had. I think he "fixed' it back! Good dude...if he's the same one. He drove his '72 455 GTO air conditioned cars to our GTOAA National Meet in Columbus and ran 12's...impressive, I thought!

It's a Baltimore built car and has a full buildsheet which clearly denotes the WT7 Black stripes option.

Yes, it was Kerry's car, Baltimore built and sold new in Maryland. Kerry owned it since 1988.

Default WT7 for Canadian Cars

All, has anyone seen documentation (Buildsheet or GM of Canada) to prove a 1970 GTO Judge with the WT7 option?

Would the GM of Canada paperwork show/list the WT7 option?

Thanks,
Steve

GM of Canada would have the WT7 on it.

A build sheet should have it on it also I think.

The PHS doesn't show it I believe.

Default WT7 GM of Canada Docs

Thank you for the responses on the GM of Canada question.

Here are pictures of the documentation that I was asking about. Since the documentation has "WT7" on the second page, why on the first page does it say "Blue" for stripes? I am just asking to be educated.

Note: Car is not for sale as the owner was kind enough to show me the car as I have a 1970 Judge, RA III Polar White Hardtop, black interior 4 speed, all numbers match as well.

I don't know the answer, but I would guess:

- Blue was the default stripe color, which was overridden by WT7 trim.
- The WT7 default stripe color was overridden by the person who ordered the car.

I have found a few GM of Canada docs faulty, especially on the Olds side, due to the people who created the manner transferring to newer technology - anyone find the same thing for Ponchos?

Racer, did it have a blue stripe or black?

Thanks for the sheets on the Judge.

Racer_X , if you can get a little more information on the car I will see what I can do.

Was it BUILT in Canada / Oshawa ?
Can see it was sold in Canada.

And what is Build Date on the Trim Tag ?

Thanks Man

I own the land and buildings across the highway that dealer was on (Candiac motors), it's still a GM dealer and up to a few years ago it still had a bunch of 50's and 60's era neon signs. I offered to buy them all but the owner ended up junking them!

btw, notice the info about model production; 1970 GTO hardtops produced in Canada (only 70 and 73 GTO's were ever made in Canada-no Canadian built convertibles). 1,866 were made for sale in Canada and 3,014 were made for sale in US for a total Canadian production of 4,880. I wonder if the production numbers we are all aware of include all of these cars are just the ones sold in the US?

Another interesting thing is that almost 25% of the GTO's sold and made in Canada were judges, much higher (almost double) than the US judge take rate.
