Chris, I can flow one on several heads and should have a new motor going together soon to trial fit one.
Shoot I'd even be game to buy one for my intake collection! Put it next to that M/T crossram!

Tom, When I get a car with the hood clearance! Probably the 65 GTO project. Sit that M/T on top a RAIV 400!If I can just find a way to add injectors in it!
Thinking that tripower might look cool on my son's 81 TA and would fit the Turbo hood! Are the runner bigger than stock? Looks alot like a factory sized runner/copy. I've got a 348 Chevy Tripower upper end(intake,heads,exhaust manifolds) with carbs I'll swap for one!

70 cast iron, 72 HO,73 SD, 78 cast iron, Torker, Torker II,Performer RPM(cut to look like an HO), Holley SD,Victor, Performer EGR, Performer, M/T crossram modified for late heads. I need another one!
Man one of those bathtub repros for late heads would also be cool! What's the latest status of the Edlebrock dual quad?(grew up on dual quad 409s)??

If this becomes a great success maybe an HO repro is not far behind? Or maybe even a stock 68-71 in aluminum? Heck I don't know how reasonable an idea that is...

jrdoran,the last 2 66 tripower intakes I have seen on ebay went for close to OVER 400 dollars!INSANE I know, but ebay has raised the bar on what tripower stuff is "worth",there is a pair of end carb cores that is over $400 now for the pair.FYI,Tom

Manifold weight, this new aluminum intake should be 13-1/2 lbs, the cast iron 66 intake is 40 lbs with just the cast iron water neck on it. A compleat 66 Tri-Power with water neck, carbs, air cleaners, linkage and fuel lines is 60 lbs. The cast iron water neck is 2 lbs and the new aluminum water neck should be a pound or less so we should be able to knock off approx 27-1/2 lbs.

Tom S is right. 66 TP manifolds are out of site now. It makes sense to make it out of aluminum. It doesn't matter as it can't be used on a #'s matching resto. Soooooooooo.......it might as well be lighter for us old geezers that have to lift it off the motor.LOL There may be some increased flow also. Tom V. is working on that deal now. Bring on the "D" port aluminum heads so I can keep my tri-y headers.

Yep, You "hear" about the 200.00 tripower intakes, but when you get pictures or see them, they are early sixties, have broken corners, or welds on them and have been "ported"...
Clean bare tripower intakes ARE 400.00 now....I looked for the last 6 months....EVERYWHERE. ANd if they are less pay shipping and "POOF" its $400.00 again! No one would sell one for less if they know how to list on ebay... And 4 bbl manifolds are getting more pricey by the month.. Soon $200.00 for a stock 4 barrel will be common.. So, the appeal of paying $450 bucks for the Brand NEW aluminum Tripower Manifold is a great deal!!! the lighter weight is a bonus! And Like Tom V said. You can polish them up too and make them look REALLY COOL!!!! Side Note.. Funny how eBays' global reach and influence has made some collectibles almost valueless, like Sports cards.... some items incredibly expensive... to follow up on intake and carb values,the set of 65 carb cores just sold for more than $650,to restore them is at least $450.Thats $1100 for a set of pre 66 carbs!Tom

On '65-66 intakes & tripower end carbs, been valuing the intakes at $250-$325 & the end carbs at $275+ a piece, for several years.
Problem is, only '65-66 tripower intakes I've been able to find for under e-Bay prices have been $125-150 cracked in the crossover junkers, & (amazingly these sold to national Supervendors, who believe they can sell them for even more). Either a junk cracked bare intake or a $500 intake with a big inlet few Chebby carbs & rubber hoses... No thanks, will wait for aluminum intake.

sample intake is still claimed to be ready to test this month. I'm not on the inside track on this project and I can only pass along what I'm being told.

Myself, i am patient, let them get it right. If it flows more than a stock intake then great. What i am looking at is the 27 to 28 lb weight saving. I want to thank Tom V. for his donation to this intake project. I have been playing with Tri-Powers for over 30 years and have been waiting that long for an aluminum intake to fit the 65-79 heads so i guess i can wait a little longer.
