Thanks for the kind comments. I confess to being slightly OCD. Believe me there have been plenty of messes, but generally the largest problem is dog hair. RamAir would call that a First World problem, and rightly so.

I need a little help here on some clips for the transmission. I have attached below a picture from the assembly manual. What I am looking for are clips 2, 3, 5, and 7. I see that Ames lists clip 5, but can't find the others. Clip 2 looks like something the could repurposed from under the hood perhaps. Clips 3 and 7 seem very specialized though.

Does anyone have: 1) A source for these; 2) Used ones they would part with; or 3) a good picture showing these clips?

Thanks for any help, and again, thanks for the kind words.

Default Pictures of my 73 clips

Bob,
I see #2 is the same as the 73's according to the manual. I would post pictures of mine, but I figured you have your 73 to compare it to.

Also, look at page 8D4. That was a reference I was thinking of in your 73 thread that shows the evap hose routing under the compressor instead of over it like I saw in one of your pictures. Not saying yours is totally wrong, we all know how these manuals aren't always followed.

Inline Tube sells retainer #3 and clip #5. Can't comment on quality.

Thanks Mike. Bought those parts. 2 doesn't bother me much, but 7 would be nice to find.

Well, a lot of little stuff got done today. All the vacuum lines are installed. The air cleaner assembly and associated mess has been fitted and installed. Two of the four transmission TCS wiring brackets are in place. The fuel lines are installed and ready. Not much more before this gets a cover put over it and the next piece moves forward. I also mailed out the AC suitcase and seatbelts for rehabilitation, and ordered date code top post clamps for everything from the heater hoses to the heat riser elbows. I love the weekends. Here's a few pictures.

I know they look like "mint" NOS, but they have been touched up and painted. A secret for installing these is to wrap gorilla tape around the tips of your slip joint pliers to keep from scratching the finish.

I did zero homework on this and just shipped them to Ssnake-Oyl. I've never heard any complaints about them other than the cost.

Stunning - and to think the line workers did it all in a matter of minutes.

Yeah, I wish I had all the parts and pieces at my disposal that they did.

A little got done today. I set up the phosphating/parkerizing stuff and did both some black and gray parts. In gray I did the prop valve bracket, Z-bar, and inner fender large cup washers. In black I did the ram air boot ring screws, some carb bolts, the AC bracket that mounts to the compressor, and a few miscellaneous fasteners. It's amazing how differently the various pieces take finish. The one that was most resistant was the AC bracket. I cooked that in the same sauce I did the black fasteners in and it looks about like the lighter of the two prop valve brackets. I even cooked it for an hour while the other black fasteners only took about 10 minutes. Also, I did two original large cup washers and four I got from AMK that were rusty. The originals took on much less color than the ones from AMK. Here's a few pictures.

It's a private contractor in Texas that used to work for Classic Auto Air doing similar restorations for them. I've never used him, but have talked with others that have and they were very positive. Once the work is done and delivered I will be glad to share a report and feedback.

You have and extra valve holder? Or can I send some of my parts to you for making them blackish?
