I hope whoever did that to the '68 Tempest is in jail.

Yep, but as mentioned if it has good bones it wouldn't be all that hard to make right. All too often though when fender flares are involved on a low buck car, it usually means a ton of rust underneath.

He says that the original wheel quarters have not been cut out...but that's hard to buy... Original quarters with a big gap between them and the glued, screwed or riveted-on flares when viewed from beneath? Kind of hard to figure.

This is the first one I've seen with an automatic and column shift with the Rally gauges/tach . Most of them that were ordered with the tach had 4 speeds.

I like it. Watched the video..needs some attention but that's alright, especially if you could get it for around what it's sitting at now, right around $6K.

Could you get a formula wheel on a column shift? I don't know that I've seen that before. I'm not disputing it, just never seen one.

At least that was what the sales memo for the substitution said in Mid 1969. |

Gary, a Norwood built 69 T/A would have a D-80 on the trim tag. Not the case on a Van Nuys built T/A. Both plants used the 50/50 paint codes.
By the way, The AEE on the trim tag is for the decor group. |

67 Firebird stick NOM 400 frame off with supposedly $30K into it at $9500 NR in Texas. Nice looking car.

69 Firebird 400 that claims the numbers match. $19.5K BIN in Texas. FWIW hate that steering wheel.

Ok, so maybe I'm being a hater. I see these restomod cars with outrageous prices and think to myself who is going to spend that much money on a car they could build themselves for less? Here's an example. A 69 Firebird with what I assume is an LS1 (ad doesn't specify) for $80K. Would you rather have this, or a real 69 T/A? I'm not knocking it as I think it's cool, but it's someone else's dream of a hotrod that I could easily replicate for less. Wonder what these cars actually sell for?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Pontia...8AAOSw9MReNLPI Here's another one. $70K For a tribute 69 T/A? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Pontia...sAAOSwantbikWW How about a 68 Firebird for $68K with someone else's dream envisioned? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Pontia...4AAOSwYjReJ1k- I just don't see these cars selling for anywhere near what they're priced at. |

Strange, creative interpretation of the alternator strap arrangement on the black one. They must have hammered it flat!
