So i called Strange Eng. today. They recommend the ford big housing ends BUT with those the axles are limited in the S/T series. He said with a c-clip eliminator setup i can get a full on race axle where as the bearing ends use more of a converted street axle. The problem is the S/T series axle can only be had at 27 7/8'' at the shortest with 33 splines. If i narrow 1.5'' each side i would be pretty much at the shortest they make. He did say i may be able to find other manufactures who make an axle that is shorter.

The c-clip eliminator is tougher to fit disc brakes so i think the housing ends is a better setup.

Anybody have any info or recommends they would like to add. I think i will phone some other axle manufactures and see what they have.

That got me thinking, i have never measured the actual height of the 38's. Checked them and with 20psi they only measure 36''. So they might get sold. The other 36's are dead on and so is the 39.5.

I run Moser spool, axles and c-clip elim, no leaks.

I'd be interested to hear if they now offer a disc brake set up for their c-clip elim.

Yup, sold the 38's. Have too many sets of tires sitting around!

Minitubs showed up last week. I am in the middle of a shutdown at work so i am working alot until monday. I should have some tub pics this week though.

Also recieved my front QA-1's, very nice pieces.

The rear sliders should be one the way.

So i pulled my convertor tonight, what an ordeal with the new exhaust! Had to disconnect the exhaust at the collectors and remove the pass. header. I hate those top two trans bolts!!!!

Trading my 3200 JH conti for a 4000 conti.

Hoping to start on the tubs next week, scoping out some pics and stuff first.

I meant to tell you guys...I accessed the two top bolts from the engine compartment.

I placed moving blankets on the fenders and I was able to easily get the two bolts. Mine are 1 1/2" long.

Nothing yet, at a stall. I am just starting to side my garage and putting a new motor in my kia. I have the tubs but have not gotten under to see how they will fit. Hoping to get at it this weekend but well see how quick i can get the motor swapped into the kia.

Our local car club is having a car show on June 6th which i would like to make but highly doubt i will. I have a wedding to go to on July 6th which i am shooting for though. After the kia and garage is done i will be hitting the pontiac hard to try and get some things caught up.

I do have the 4000 conti here to put back in. I am debating pulling my motor to fix a few stubborn leaks since there is not much left to remove other than motor mounts, wiring, coolant/fuel lines.

I will have a few dollars coming my way shortly, was thinking about SD's KRE D 320+ and solid roller.............. see how things work out. That would put me down for much longer though. If i pull the motor that would be the time to do it before i reinstall it.

Hope to have some good updates in the next few weeks.


Got my overhead winch installed last night so the motor in the kia will be out tonight and new one in by sunday, hopefully running.

Yeh, it is tough to make the decsison to have the car down for the season or not.

I will upgrade to the 320's too, I keep finding details I overlooked when putting the car together.

One most recent find was lack of WOT, prob at 66%. Car is totally different now with WOT and different converter. I bet it has an 80 in it.

Awesome, 11.80's would be great.

I am hoping for some 11.7/8's with the new conti and different suspension. If not, then i will hit the little red button for a low 11/high 10 maybe?

Well, some turn of events. I may have to cancel the minitub for this season. It would not take much to put the driveline back in until a later date. I am seriously considering this option.

This sucks but other priorities need to come first.
