Vacuum secondaries are much more practical for driveability. Mechanical secondaries are for high rev leaves and WOT. A vacuum secondary only delivers fuel as-needed. Exactly why Q-Jets replaced Tri-Powers. Open those dumpers at a low rpm in a higher gear and you're dead in the water. BTW...I'd have that display in my living room!

Don't think it's a 4545.

Car drove like a dream with no problems, except for the few little details that didn't get finished up. They were working on the car right up until the day he left. It still needs a few days of final detail work, but at least the mechanicals are A-OK. He ended up with a Concours Gold award and The Long Haul award.

The V is Tom S. aluminum engine, the exhaust manifolds are John Glasgo's, 4545 Holly is on Aluminum V. The carb on the engine on the stand is a Holley 3 barrel, the intake is Ford Tunnel Port modified to fit a V, again Tom S. had it done.

Kevin said he talked to him at length several times. Kevin's plane was delayed in DFW last night as they had to repair an oil leak. Picked him up after midnight and the only place open was White Castle...and I'm paying for that mistake at this very moment! Sounds like it was a really nice event. The '70 scored 690 out of 700. Haven't looked at the score sheets yet.

good old 950 Three-Barrel! Had one on my 396/375 Chevelle...broke out the rear divider on the factory aluminum intake so it would open...silly me! Haven't seen one for awhile. They DO work!
