To top it off, we lost 60 HP on the dyno. Never again.
The Southern Florida fiasco was a failure in every respect: From product delivery to product quality and product performance. After a year and a half of excuses and his two attempts to get it right, we still had to repair everything he sent us.
I feel your frustration completely! I totally understand....MY East Tennessee fiasco was a failure:From product delivery time to product quality and product performance. After a 2months-3years of excuses and attempts to get it right, we still had to repair everything he sent us. In a nutshell that's how I felt......I'm really really glad we both feel we are on the right path! Good Luck to you Mr. Fulton.

The topic originally started as a race between Jack and Fulton correct? Smoke/mirrors/vacume pumps/oiling system modifications/cylinder heads and so on. Why not make that happen and forget the dumb crap. It's fun to read to a point but the personal stuff may be a bit much. Brian

I have been very busy doing keyboard racer stuff and just got to read this. A lot of butt kissing and pure lack of reading comprehension on display here.
Some of you at your finest. Stan

Stan, you are growing tiresome. Do you have an agenda here? If so what is it? Want to talk about your car and it's accomplishments for a while?
You are amazing at match calculations but do you do much car related? Last edited by PAUL K; 09-21-2016 at 12:59 PM. |

What is the matter? You have problems having a discussion when someone will not just believe what you say just because you said it. Yes I do have an agenda. To see that people post the truth. Stan

Paul,
We must have on different rose colored glasses on when looking at some of these posts. It is clear to me based on a question I ask you about Lil Jack's new combination and then the question you asked Lil Jack that we clearly are not talking the same language. Maybe google can translate my NE US American to your MidWest US American. Stan

That's why I suggested a few posts back that all the folks who have bashed this head over the years should instead stand back and let it be. Then if the head fails they can say it was on its own and for its own lack of merits. But you know...those who have contributed to the problem can't even be honest with themselves, let alone anyone else. And they post comments indicating they were only asking questions........only pointing out facts........ No, they didn't have anything to do with the negativity here. But they're lying. To themselves and everyone else who has seen it. And trust me, there are many who have watched here and thought exactly what I am saying but never posted. An example. John Marcella. Knowledgeable guy, offers a lot. Has this head in fact been around for 7 years with no appreciable results? No. Two and a half years ago I contacted Jim Roland about maybe buying a set. Hadn't been a set available for a little while and he wasn't sure there would be any more. Fast forward to now. Yes, there are sets out there from the first run, but not all that many. Nothing like what Edelbrock sold initially. It took Edelbrock a few years to gain traction in the new Pontiac head with their HUGE name behind it and basically ZERO other comparably priced competition. Realistically subtract 3 years from the 7 that John is quoting. During that say...4 years...of actual production a small number of those CV-1's sold ended up on running engines in cars. Like anything else some others were part of longer term projects, etc. And we all know Jim Roland does NOT have the Edelbrock name behind him. I've met Pontiac guys who are never on this forum...some have never heard of this forum. This is the main contact Jim had with the Pontiac world for the most part. Unlike the E-head, the CV-1 head was scrutinized from the start right here. I saw it. The E-head was welcomed. You say the E-head had no problems? It came with crappy springs, flowed a measly 265 cfm and yes, it did have an oil drain back issue in some applications. I know someone who experienced it. The bolt bosses in the heads were also not changed by Edelbrock because they were sitting at lunch one day and said, "Hey...lets change something on those Pontiac heads for the heck of it. Throw those Pontiac guys a curveball. Hehe." The E-head evolved because a bunch of people bought them and threw a LOT of money at them. Spent a hell of a lot of time trying new things on the race track. They got welded on and played with every which way. The CV-1 has not had that much time on the race track. Give it some time....I mean REALLY give it some time. Without the BS. Maybe it'll prove itself, maybe it won't. As for me having something against E-heads? Oh heck no. I own a set I like. P.S. - Bill was right on the mark explaining how I meant there were many heads that could make 3000 hp. Truth is Marty P. made 1600 hp or so with a set of iron heads what...20 yrs ago? Everything has improved since then, from turbos to blocks to..... |

It is very simple we both read the same posts and come away thinking that they mean something different. As far as what question, I asked you and then was quoted above. Don't worry about. Stan
