Nice car that could use some lowering springs all the way around to get the stance right.

So: A torch to heat up the springs or cut 1/2 coil off you think?

I like it exactly as is; and reminds me of how much vehicles grow in height whenever they're worked on suspension wise or simply jacked up.

Nice car, color and wheels IMO.

No torch or cutting of Springs. Front coils and rear leafs from Hotchkis or Pro-Touring F-Body would be the way to go. Man even if you like the stock look, that stance is not it.

Was JK with the torch or cutting...but IIRC that's how some of Herb Adams and crew spec'd them back in the day...(see works T/As on pg. 138).

Look on page 139 of your copy of "The Fabulous Firebird" and you will see a (then new) Pontiac photo of a 1978 T/A driving in the rain.
It has the same stance as this one. Takes some time for the suspension to "settle" doesn't it?

No worries either way. Each to their own. Kudos to the owner - job well done!

Craig, no... it's been painted at least three times, and the picture flatters its current paint job (very sunburnt). It spent its driving life in AZ, so it is very solid, but I think every time the sun cooked the paint the prior owners had it repainted

A classic shot for sure. Reminds me of one we took of my old blue 70 T/A and my friend Steve's old white 71 (neither of us own these cars any more). Pic taken in 2000, I think.

Default 70 Formula 400 RA III 4spd

There was an ad in Little Niclkle that only stated 70 Firebird $3000. firm. So I just went to have a look. Walking up from behind the car I saw daul exhaust, looked under to see a 12 bolt rear? Through the side window there was a stick, tach, and gauges? This really started to get me thinking. Looking at the hood and seeing the grills in the scoops got me real excited. Popped the hood to see the RA scoop and manifolds, I knew this would be going home with me. PHSed the car 1 of 189 Formula 400 RA III M-21 3.73 12 bolt posi. Ran it many times at the strip with small 14 tires, ran 14 flat at 100mph time after time. Went 13.80 at 102mph Bremerton, WA BOP Drags in 98. Sold it and is now in Canada. It was a beater, but I would love to have it back.

Looked at 2Manys profile, didn't get much from it. I do know his name is Brian.

Send Brian a pm. Brian is cool dude, and has a bunch of cars. He may have it, or know where it's at.

Drag racing. An adrenalin rush like no other. It felt like going into combat, tasting your first beer, and losing you virginity, all in about 8 seconds.
