You have under dash courtesy lamps in there? Where do they attach under dash?

Believe me I enjoy it every morning during my morning coffee and every evening during my after work bourbon. As far as driving it, well that will be awhile. There’s a few more shows first and after that we’ll have to see. I’ve got more cars than I can drive, so having one for garage art doesn’t hurt too bad. In truth, I like working on them as much as I like driving them. I’m not good at sitting around and relaxing, I have to be busy and I find working in the garage a great stress reliever.

It's easy to see Bob that you enjoy perfecting them - and you are good at it too!

I can echo that notion too.

Bob, is good at perfecting a fine machine! He also is very good at enjoying the fruits of his labor.

We should all enjoy what we do to make our cars more fun!

Bob, that was an eloquently worded reply.

Too many cars to enjoy driving huh - sounds rough.
I know a local (my former boss) who is in that situation... although I don't believe any of his cars are quite up to the 'Black car' standard
At least, you and him both allow other people to enjoy them as the automotive art that they are

Any-who, I hope you get to enjoy ripping through the gears in the black car - it sure is a thing of beauty!

X100, working on them can be a huge tress reliever 99% of the time. Sometimes the little bugs add to the stress

Love working on mine as well Bob. Still have enough of a to-do list to keep me busy awhile. I keep it at my office in the warehouse. I’ll bring it home and tinker on something with some good blues playing, and a fine bourbon on the counter top. Sometimes I just sit and admire it and the Vette as the works of automotive engineering art that they are and just chill. I will say that getting that radio out of the dash to send it off for repair, mounting the new front speaker, and fishing the broken speedometer cable drive gear out of the transmission tail housing were all stress-inducers...not relievers!

See you in Dayton!

OK, so this damn carpet is like Dracula...it just won’t die. At POCI now and just got judged. Only deduction I know I received was for having the seat tracks bolted through the carpet instead of directly to the metal. This is exactly how my ‘73 TA survivor is....Any experts out there that can provide clarification? HFR can’t help because he is here.

The inspector is wrong. Seat track bolts go through the carpet. The bolts actually help retain the front carpet piece. There is a long black plastic bezel that covers the front seat track mounts. I hope this person doesn't judge any other 2nd-gen F-bodies.

EDIT: Just found this picture of my '71 T/A when it still had the well worn original carpet.

Through the carpet is correct. This is not a GTO!

This is why I don't care about judged shows anymore. Display only from here on in for me.

They are absolutely wrong. Tracks go over the carpet. There are cutout areas but not for the seat tracks to go through.

Here's a couple photos from when we did the heater core replacement. This was the first time the seats had ever been removed from the 19,000 mile car.

At the 2016 MCACN Vintage Certification the judges were amazed at the original seat tracks on my car which still had the cosmoline film on them. The actually were commenting on them to each other. The car scored 99.6% for the interior with the only deductions for shoe scuff marks on the kick panels. Scott Tiemann was one of the judges. Is he present at your show?

I'd be happy to text you the photos if you need them.
