New quarter AMD 1977
Hello,
I replaced or am replacing a quarter panel on my 77. I purchased an AMD panel, but what I’ve found is the little “nibs” for the rear window chrom trim are missing. What have you done in the past to install new mounts for the chrome trim when replacing a quarter? Thanks! |

The gutter the windshield sits in always collects water. A screw hole will leak and rust. Before you install have the body shop weld the nail heads on and properly treat both sides of the panel.

I used the screw-ins and they never leaked for me. Maybe overkill but I sprayed them with epoxy primer and right before the install I dipped the threads in JB Weld. That's been over 15 years ago. Also, make the pilot hole small so they get a really good grip.
