So, now I bought one that I didn't need yet, prematurely. Hope they have a long shelf life.

The transition of the Stripe business is complete. Firebird Central has the inventory and they had some great interest in the kits and some nice sales at the Trans Am Nationals last month. They also have had great success transitioning many of the retailers like our host to continue using these kits in their product line.

HFR, I have the artwork complete on the '73 up project but I am going to hold on production just now. There's many more colors and combinations that make the production/inventory requirements a bit more involved than the '70~'72 product line.

HFR and those of you that I have decals on loan for patterns and colors, thank you for your generosity. I will be returning them next week.

Many many thanks to everyone.

I have an update on the TransAmStripes.net product that I developed a few years ago, and is chronicled here.

The designs and inventory have moved from Firebird Central to Stencils and Stripes.

This is another good move for this product as these superior stripes are now in the hands of a reputable decal distributor.

Ralph used the same design and manufacturer from the original lots, and he has a fresh inventory of kits.

I suppose this update provides a chapter that brings us full circle on this important component of our cars. For any of you who remember, or were on Ralph's famous waiting list, waiting for his high quality product instead of settling for what was currently on the market; well, I was one of those on the waiting list when I started this endeavor. The effort with the support of these forums took us to an exemplary product that now is in Ralph's inventory! Great stripes for our great cars being sold by a great company. The world is right.

Here's his website:

Greg, did you develop the '73-up decals and share with them too?

Hallelujah! Take it from someone who has been on the wrong side of the TA stripe kits more than once, all I can say is I had a fantastic experience dealing with Ralph at S&S. He stepped up where FC could care less! Definately a class act and a superior product -Two thumbs up.

Ordered a kit that I found out was made by Phoenix Graphics (before I found this thread) and it was junk. Sending it back and getting the Stencils and Stripes kit. Ralph seems to be a great guy.
Anyways, any tips on applying these. I have done one car already and it came out well. What do you guys do with the shaker opening?

How were these applied at the factory? Did the graphic roll into the shaker hole??

Hi,
When you applie the stripes, use a spraybottle filled with water and 10% isopropyl alcohol. Easy and the alcohol Will dry out the water instantly. The shaker hole, there you can use a heatgun. I hope this can be usefull. Sorry for the english. Im from Belgium. Good luck! Grts Dilly.

I remember this thread, good stuff.

I couldn't be happier with my stripe kit! 100% accurate, and looks great! Its going on its 3rd year on my car and there's no discoloration or fading.

I still cant get over how TAC basically shut down any effort to point out a certain manufactures lack of quality.

"some of the early '70 blue cars had a white stripe with a black dot fade pattern instead of solid black."

My blue 1970 Trans Am, produced in February in Ohio, had the black dot fade upon a silver border, with a nose bird in a reversed color pattern than customery.

Obviously, this very helpful thread is old, but when I click on the www.TransAmStripes.net , it now takes me straight to Phoenix Graphics. So my question is, does this mean that Phoenix Graphics are selling Gregs Stripe Kits nowdays as well? We will be needing a set for a White car(Blue Stripe Kit).

Thanks!

No, I believe Greg worked with Stencils and Stripes to make them and they did a run in late '19 or early '20 also as that is when I got mine. They are out, no idea when they will make them again.

This thread covers the last run which I believe sold out.
