Default 78 GA Steering Column Swap

Fellows, my 1978 GA column shift car (my son drives) needs a steering column swap or rebuild, there are several broken pieces inside and I figure a swap may be the easiest way out at this point.
Any help you guys can offer on what years will interchange the easiest? Thanks -Jim

IIRC, 78 was "one year only" with the wiper switch in the dash, not on the column.
Easiest swap will be another 78 G body.

Around here, a column rebuild is $150 (plus any major parts). Drop it off and pick it up in 3-4 days.
That might be quicker and easier than trying to find a good used one...
