I don't think I've ever seen a g-body Grand Am without the peripheral-type body lower side molding with the included wheel well moldings!

This is what a g-body Grand Am would look like.

Lightfoot,

Ah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,your picture is of a Grand Prix! Check out the Grand Am on the ebay link that ugpkgb posted, but thanks for posting in the 78 and newer G-body Pontiac TECH! I don't think we get enough posts here!

I think that is the point he was trying to make (correct me if I am wrong please) That a 78-80 GA without the Lower Cladding and with the Wheel Well chrome would look like a 78-86 GP. Still sad that they didnt make a performance GP again until the Turbo & GTP Models of the mid 90's. I think they really missed a great sales opertunity in the 80's!!!!

Jeff,

I guess I didn't "see the forest for the trees" as people say! Sorry, I didn't see the point you were trying to make.

Nice car, bidding is over and it did not come close to selling. These cars are under appreciated for sure.

I don't think there under appericated but they are defintly not up to the price points yet , Just like our cars our. 73-77 A-Bodies. I have a 73 GTO that is perfect & that I bought new, & cant get anywhere near what say a 70 GTO will bring. The G/A here is nice but I talked with the owner on line & the A/C is not working & has a few other items that need attention so it may just be worth what the bids reflected.

Without the belt molding, it would look like a Lemans (from the side), not a Grand Prix...I'm probablly missing the message too...
There a couple pieces of trim that are hard to find, so a lot of people have just been leaving it all off.
Large pictures, interior shots and side trim would have helped the sale imo.
