2011 Silverado rear slider window issue
The rear window on my Silverado isn’t working. It’s kind of hard to push the button and be in the back seat to watch it at the same time, but it appears that the cables that open/close it jumped a gear or are out of sync or something.
Anyway, has anybody ever worked on one of these? How hard is it? I assume I have to pull interior rear panel off? Thanks!

Mine is a 2008. First cable failed under warranty and second a year later. Both times the end plug pulled off the cable. After the second one failed we just dropped a couple rods on each side of the window after removing the cable and locked it shut. Next owner can buy another cable if they are so inclined.

Thanks for the info. I’ve been so busy I haven’t even dealt with this yet. Debating if I’m going to bring it in or do it myself., but figured if someone did it before I would know what I was getting into. I just have a strip of duct tape holding it shut for now.

Easy swap to change the cable , remove rear seat , remove plastic trim to access the regulator etc.

Thanks. Just watched the video. Looks simple enough so I just ordered a regulator/cable for it.
It’s supposed to be here by Friday and I have a 3 day weekend, so maybe I’ll get around to it finally.

Well, finally got it done. I took the seat out and went to put the new one in last week, but the cable was about 1” short. I found a kink in it that looked like it was taking up slack, so I sent it back. Amazon sent another and that one went right in.
Someone want to help me get that wretched rear seat back in? Thanks for the info guys.
