Default NASA 421 Catalina...

Many of you know about this and I'm sure some don't. The story about the Catalina starts near the bottom. Couple of pictures I hadn't seen before. Very cool they used a 421 Catalina convertible. I wonder what happened to them?

That is a great story! I had no idea of a Pontiac connection to NASA, especially anything like this!

The article says they, NASA, had slicks installed on the car. Perhaps the scientists DID have some off the record fun in mind for this car. Curious.

The article misspells the name of the shop that did the work...it was Bill Stroppe, not Bill Straub. I always thought it was interesting they took it to him, since he was more well known for his work on Fords.
