Default 65 Big Car Engine Comp. pics

Anyone have any concours engine compartment pictures of a 65, 4bbl big car? I'm going to start to detail the engine compartment of my 65 GP and I want it to be close to concours. I also need to know the plating on the hood hinges. Were they silver zinc, black phosphate, etc.?

Bjoern, that might depend on the factory where the car was built. My 1965 Bonneville 4DRHT was built in the Linden NJ factory as an export car. It has cad plated hinges.

Not saying that's correct though. Maybe someone swapped out the hinges sometime before I bought it. However it was shipped brand new to Australia so the likelihood they have been changed is not strong.

Mine is a late build car as the lower control arms do not have the welded in ball joints so maybe at some time in the production they might have gone from black hinges to cad plated hinges??? Who knows for sure??

I would also like to see the engine bay pics. I am attempting a concours resto of a 65 Catalina / Ventura bench seat 421 HO car with a column shift auto and transistor ignition so wire routing is very important. All help appreciated.

Bill.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures, but I used to own a '65 GP and I'm almost positive the hinges on that car were black. The rest of the underhood area was mostly covered with a thick layer of undercoating so original finishes weren't visible.
