Default Original trunk mat

I've heard that the original trunk mats have some sort of marking on the underside. Anyone have any pics of this marking?

Anyone know where the coding was printed on an original mat. I'm trying to figure out if the trunk mat in a low mileage 65 is the original one or a reproduction that was put in many years ago. It is very thick with a slick back.

The OEM trunk mats in 1965 had a crisscrossed pattern (rows of small bumps) on the back.

All the reproduction mats are smooth on the back, plus they do not come with the white inked coding info.

First pic is my early 65.
Last two pics are another 65.

Chris.

Do you have any photos of said car or it’s trunk mat?

From what you stated it probably doesn't have the original mat. The car sat outside with the interior stored inside for many years. Someone had it painted 20 or more years ago but it is a fantastic paint job. The engine was frozen and rebuilt and it was painted the wrong color (metallic blue) and someone 'attempted' to detail it. I sure wish they hadn't touched it, but the interior is absolutely mint and all original including the carpet. If I'm able to get it I'll post some pics and a lot more information.
