Default One more week!

Our Governor stated today that restaurants can open their dining rooms back up next Monday as long as they follow strict guidelines. Whoopee; I'm tired of takeout and my favorite two restaurants simply closed down. We're going to be practicing 'social distancing' for a long time but that's better than being stuck in your house!

I've got a tee time for tomorrow morning (I canceled one yesterday because of rain) for my first round of the year.

I'll play 18 holes tomorrow and except for possibly in the parking lot or getting my golf cart, I won't have anyone within 200 yards of me.

As to restaurants, current "shelter in place" order is through May 4th.

I dont miss fast food in the slightest. To me it was a necessary evil. Only because I am lazy and dont feel like making a lunch before I go to work. I have gotten into that habit now and it takes no more than a few minutes to put together a sandwich in the morning before I hit the pike. I am a fairly good cook and anymore it takes a lot for me to want to go out to eat. There were 2 places in particular I enjoyed, both Italian and both closed their doors for good last winter, even before the virus nonsense. I have since almost perfected my ravioli so I dont really miss those places as much now. The only other place I like is Texas Roadhouse, for the money you cant beat their Filet. Again, for about half of the price I can get a good filet from the local market and fire up the grill, just as good. My favorite meal is breakfast and every once in awhile we would go to Cracker Barrel just because. Its going to take a long time going forward for me to even want to consider going out in public to get a meal! The one thing I do miss is Pizza! I make that as well just havent got it to the take out taste yet. I think their secret is in the cheese they use.

Social Distancing hasn't really had that much effect on me, I practice on a daily basis, LOL. I just stated my opinion about rest's, but what I am missing now is that the local car cruises and shows being cancelled I start looking to the first show in April when the last one ends in October.

That statement reminds me of my trip to Italy last October...

On our 3rd day in country, we went to a very small restaurant in a village of about 50 people and had cooking lessons.

That's me helping roll out the pasta and then putting the pesto in the raviolis...

I don't eat pesto either. But I was told it was excellent, if your into that sort of thing. Personally, I like sausage and/or cheese ravioli's.

I ended up eating the pizza I made there....

Champ, that looks awesome! Im not a pesto person but the experience looks like it was fun. I have the pasta thing down pretty good, fresh spaghetti taste so much better than boxed, my ravioli's are darn good too, I prefer meat and I almost have the recipe down to the exact taste from our favorite rest. that went out of business.

This ^^^

I'll come back to this thread and see the reactions of those with ants in their pants if the country gets shut down again due to people with ZERO patience.

Maybe, but that's a pretty easy prediction to make.

I hope I’m wrong and people stay their distance and we all make it through safe and wiser. There’s a whole bunch of old and young Pontiac people I’d like to see for years to come.
